MALAGA CITY - A GREAT CITY TO VISIT AND EXPLORE

Malaga is a fantastic destination for those who love city breaks with sun and summer.

The city is the largest on the Costa del Sol with around half a million inhabitants. 

You can enjoy everything from gourmet food to local specialties such as "espeto de sardinas" or charcoal grilled octopus often served as a speciality on the beachrestaurants (its amazing).

There are also plenty of opportunities to try local wine, such as the delicious Málaga sweet wine of which there are quite some varieties.

Optionally take a walk along the beautiful beach promenades that you will find both east and west of the city centre.

Malaga has an average temperature of 18 degrees Celsius throughout the year. In the summer months, the average temperature is 24-25 degrees, while in January and February it is around 11 degrees.

In August, the afternoon temperature can reach over 30 degrees, and sometimes even exceed the 40 degrees.

In addition to the extraordinary local kitchen, Malaga also offers plenty of cultural experiences and old, historical buildings such as Malaga Cathedral, the Picasso Museum, Alcazaba, the Roman Theater,

HIGUERON RESORT - NEARBY BEACHES.

The strip in between Higueron and Benalmadena is called Torremuelle a bit further down. This is a great area if you are looking for a less crowded and family friendly beach not far from Higueron. These small bays or calas are perfect spots if what you're looking for is a somewhat more private and secluded beach less busy than the ones right in the centers of Fuengirola and Benalmadena.

Midway between both you find the area of Torremuelle with its own train station a great little area with a few local and inexpensive restaurants as well as  the well-known British College

You will also see the well preserved round watchtower from the Arab times that has given name to the area Torremuelle which is the first area belonging to Benalmadena.

Fine dining Benalmadena and Nueva Torrequebrada.

For fine diners we can absolutely recommend the Trocadero restaurant only 10 minutes drive from Higueron resort - it is a big wooden construction very easily seen on your right hand side, set on the seaside, on the 15 meters high cliff with a small beach right beneath.

The area is also known as Nueva Torrequebrada.

It is recommended to reserve your table well in advance since El Trocadero is known for being one of the best seafood restaurants in the whole area, hence very popular amongst locals and tourists alike.

Starters are priced from around 20€ and main courses from around 30€ with a great wine selection.

Parking is rather easy right in front of the restaurant Trocadero or on the main road just before the restaurant.
